01. the booking process

I keep the booking process straightforward and simple. You can book directly online here or you’re welcome to reach out to me directly at hello@mauifamily.photography. 

02. location suggestions

After years of working as a photographer in Maui, I scout and suggest locations that I know can deliver an amazing experience and gallery for you. My location scouting is based on my years of experience and always takes into consideration lighting so that I can solely focus on you and your family without worrying about messing with camera gear and lighting.

03. wardrobe recommendations

With access to a client closet and wardrobe recommendations available based on your family’s needs and wants, you don’t have to worry about a thing! 

04. guided session

The day of the session is your time to shine! I arrive to every session with an open heart and an open mind ready to capture the true essence of your family. I’m here to guide you through the entire session so the result will be authentic photos that feel true to you and your fam.

05. post-session experience

Your gallery viewing appointment will be set for approximately two weeks after your session. The images are all professionally edited (meaning color correction, cropping, and basic distraction removal). Photoshopping and retouching are considered an additional service and additional fees will apply if you’re interested in that route!

Tips / Experience

Hawai’i (HST time zone) is 2-3 hours behind Pacific Standard Time depending on the time of year. This means your little ones will likely be up much before the sun comes up and will be exhausted before the sun sets.

Maui is known for being windy — great for windsurfing, not so great for the hair. In a morning session, you can anticipate significantly calmer winds, by sunset winds are typically 20-30 mph.

My favorite sunrise and sunset spot in Wailea! The 4-mile stretch of Kaanapali Beach is off-limits to commercial activity which limits our west-side photo location options. All west side photo sessions are held in the morning hours — trust me.

Feed those kids! Please try to feed your kids prior to the session and/or bring snacks along. Let’s face it, we all get a little hangry sometimes. Anticipate and plan for that to be the case with your kiddos.

WHERE ARE THE SUNSET SESSIONS HELD?

Sunset sessions are only held in Wailea or Paia. These locations provide ideal sunsets and the best weather to achieve the perfect outcome for documenting your special memories.

WHO CAN COME TO MY SESSION?

My sessions are structured for immediate family only (a.k.a. mom, dad, and the kids). Once we start adding in grandparents, grandkids, aunts, uncles, etc. it becomes an extended ohana session and extra fees may apply.

WHEN AND HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS?

Your gallery viewing appointment will be set for approximately two weeks after your session.
